Lundgrens Schakt appreciates the simplicity and security of the G-Lock quick coupler.
When Pierre Lundgren, owner of Lundgrens Schakt AB in Tidaholm, Sweden, received an assignment from Veidekke, the prerequisite was that the excavator should be equipped with a safe coupler that fulfils the safety requirements. The choice fell on Götene's new G-Lock quick coupler.
When we spoke to Pierre Lundgren, he was working between Västerås and Eskilstuna on the widening, ditching and grading of Riksväg 56, which will become a 2+1 junction-free road.
Pierre founded the company almost 15 years ago. However, his experience as an excavator operator goes back further than that; he began his professional career as an operator back in 1996. The biggest customer is NCC, but the client for the Riksväg 56 project is Veidekke. Both are customers that work with high safety requirements.
Continuing with Götene
The machine he drives is a Hitachi ZX250 LC-7 from 2020 that weighs about 29 tonnes. Lundgrens Schakt has been a customer of Götene since several years ago and the machine is equipped with Götene's intermediate tilt and a set of buckets from Götene.
It was a natural choice to continue with the same brand when he learnt about G-Lock and understood the good characteristics of the quick coupler.
Likes the mechanical philosophy
– Safety is of course the most important thing, but the technical solution also feels very good. I believe in G-Lock because the mount is largely based on mechanics and with few components there are fewer things that can go wrong. It suits me well as I am alone in the company and do not have a mechanic nearby. The attachment is also suitable for the size of the excavator I have and the type of driving I do," says Pierre Lundgren.
– Another big advantage is that the coupler does not have its own electronics. In my experience, electronics too often suffer from problems which can lead to both machine downtime and expensive repairs.
Creating security in everyday life
Throughout his years, Pierre has witnessed a number of incidents.
– In my 25 years as a driver, I have had a few occasions when implements have not been properly locked when I thought they were. Fortunately, I've never had a work tool come loose near a person. It feels very good for me as an excavator operator to use an attachment that has a secure solution, it's a worry that disappears.
